What makes you different?
My high work rate and dedication to improving is what separates me from others. I’m always aiming to improve because there’s much higher levels I would like to reach and tournaments I would like to compete in. My commitment to practicing whilst keeping up with my school grades is also important to me as I see school as an important attribute because there’s always got to be a plan B, therefore despite how hard I practice and work at golf, I work equally as hard in the classrooms to make opportunities like this possible.
Why do you want to compete in college?
I want to go to America for college golf because it opens up a variety of opportunities and experiences. There is a constant motivation to try and get better finishes and secure a place in the college team. Also with the facilities and the climate, it is a really good opportunity to reach much higher levels with more serious practice in better conditions with the help of qualified professionals who will learn my game and swing. College sports is viewed very highly in America which makes it more of a thrill to be involved knowing it is a highly respected level of golf nationally. Also by being in America, a variety of other tournaments become possible as well as trips to a variety of other states in the country.
Whilst at a college in the USA I plan to study banking and finance or accountancy alongside any other subjects I may have to take. As well as studying this, I plan to play and practice in my spare time given to try and get a spot in the college golf team. A real aim is to succeed on and off the course by getting high finishes in college events/matches and hitting target grades in the classroom.
Golf and life Goals?
I want to get the most out of myself within golf, I am constantly working on and off the course to improve my golf game to allow me to compete at the national levels I want to play at. Out of life I want to have a comfortable life where I enjoy what I do and whether I have a career in golf or not, to have golf in my life throughout. An ideal situation would be to make a way onto a golf tour, but I am also very interested in going into coaching and helping people to improve so within golf I have a variety of career plans which could happen with the right help, commitment and work ethic.
