In all sports, young athletes grow up idolising their heroes, hoping one day they will be able to reach the same heights.
But becoming a pro means taking your chance, the same chance that Woods, Nicklaus, Spieth and 65% of all PGA Tour players take: the US college system.
We are offering six young golfers the chance to win full scholarships to colleges in the US to help them start achieving their dream.
2016 has ended with its ups and downs and now we enter a new year that brings with it the traditional New Year resolutions.
This traditional list of resolutions may come with a bad connotation because by the end of the year many of us have forgotten about them and neglected our goals. However, the beginning of a new year is always a good time to reflect on the past and make a list of things that we’d like to change or achieve.
Merry Christmas From All of us Here at Athletes USA!
We are happy to have welcomed so many athletes to our family this year.

5 Ways to Run Safely at Night
You’ve spent this last past year working hard and some holidays are not going to get in the way. Therefore, to stay fit, you are going to want to train and for many people that includes running. However, because now days are shorter and nights are longer there is a very big possibility that you will have to run in the dark, so make sure you stay safe and that you are really careful.
Ideally choose to run in well-lit areas, but if for some reason that isn’t possible we want to give you 5 safety precautions you should take:
What To Avoid When Meeting A College Coach
As we’ve previously mentioned coaches are not only looking for athletes with talent, when recruiting they take into consideration many other factor and during a meeting there are many things that they will look for that could ruin your interview.
First and foremost, don’t get down if things aren’t perfect and don’t go as planned, it is expected that you will be nervous and coaches know that. However, there are a few things you should avoid if you want to make a good impression.
Qualities Coaches Look for in Recruits
When recruiting, coaches look for athletes that will fit into their teams, usually filling their weaknesses. As a result, not all coaches are looking for the same type of athlete and will look for different particular characteristics that may be decisive in the recruiting process.
Here are some of those things:
NCAA DI Soccer National Championship 2016
The NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer national championship was being disputed last Sunday at the BBVA Compass Stadium during a scoreless game that ended up going into penalties. However, by the end of the match, the Stanford Cardinals won their second consecutive national title.
In the 71st minute, Drew Skundrich, playing for Stanford, took a shot, but Wake Forest’s goalkeeper Andreu Cases Mundet made a save when he caught the ball, laying on his back keeping it from crossing the line. Stanford celebrated a goal and Wake Forest celebrated a save. However, NCAA rules allow a review, which resulted in no goal.
By the end of the game, the scores remained 0-0 and the game went into penalty kicks. By the 5th penalty, Hayden Partain, from Wake Forest, shot low to the right corner, but Stanford’s goalkeeper Andrew Epstein made a game-saving block sending the teams into a sudden death shootout. Sam Werner scored giving the Cardinals the lead, while the Wake Forest team needed a goal to stay alive. However, Epstein had a different plan and when Brad Dunwell attempted to score, he dove to his right to make a save, winning the cup for his team, becoming the first team since Wisconsin in 1995 to win a national championship without a goal against.
Andrew Epstein is a redshirt junior and is the fifth goalkeeper in NCAA history to have a 0.00 goals-against average in a season. His career goals-against average is 0.34 and the NCAA record is 0.39.
It isn’t the first time Coach Jeremy Gunn leads a team to the national championship, he guided Charlotte to the 2011 College Cup.
The Importance of Making a Good Recruiting Profile
Most recruiting processes begin online through recruiting services, so your profile is the first impression you make with the coaches. A good online profile allows coaches to find and evaluate prospective athletes quickly and efficiently.
