What we look for
Like we said, a career as an Athletes USA franchisee is not for everyone. Equally, we don’t accept just anyone either. Ideally, you’ll already have a successful business and/or career and will have demonstrated significant team leadership.
It should come as no surprise that our selection process is rigorous. We look for individuals with:
• High personal integrity
• High standards of people management and communication
• Ability to display financial acumen
• Strong leadership qualities
• The personality to be an excellent ambassador for Athletes USA
• Former college athlete, or extensive knowledge of the U.S college system and sports
Running an Athletes USA franchise means running it. Your role would vary from working with athlete selection and management to marketing and promotion within your region. You will be leading your team as well as making key business decisions.
Active in the community
And it doesn’t end there, we encourage all of our franchisees to be active in the community. Usually, they support community programmes, like local junior sport teams or issues relating to education development. So you can see, it’s as much about earning respect within and outside your business as it is about earning money.

The approval process
After several interviews, if we’re both sure that an Athletes USA franchise is right for you, you’ll embark on our training programme, which typically takes three months. This involves an initial visit from one of our senior team members, working with our training team and live training. Our training is excellent and extensive, but you’ll have to support yourself throughout that period.
There’s more to running an Athletes USA franchise than serving clients – much more. You’ll need a remarkable aptitude for connecting and communicating with people and you’ll need to be completely committed for at least 5 years, with no other business interests. We only offer franchises to individuals or companies looking to diversify their portfolio.
